“TREASURE THE MIND” - THE BIRTH & TRANSCENDENCE
“When it began for me professionally in 2017, it seemed as if it were divinely orchestrated to intertwine with my life path,” as I begin to give insight into how I managed to change my life and those around me.
Treasure The Mind is my holistic wellness brand, initially focused on massage therapy practice, offers healing to many individuals whom I connect with all over the world.
Since practicing massage therapy, it catalyzed my deep, personal healing and spiritual reconciliation. We all face challenges and battles within ourselves on varying degrees, and I am not exempt, and so I came to realization of the dichotomy of the mind – its frailty and strength. Hence the brand name, “Treasure The Mind”, to commemorate my memories of living in
Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth (Jamaica) as well as a reminder to myself of being mentally vigilant.
ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
It was while in Treasure Beach that I met an elderly woman who had been practicing alternative medicine and massage therapy for over 20 years and, through her counsel, followed “my calling”.
I prayed, meditated, even slept a little restless because somehow, I felt deep down that taking on this venture might change my life – and it has!!! I am glad I stepped forward in courage to discover another gift within myself. The ongoing delight of self-discovery was the basis of inspiration.
My endeavours encapsulate not only being a certified massage therapist practicing holistic healing, but also a working actress, digital entrepreneur, and a mom.
I have provided healing, rejuvenation and relaxation to persons across the world, namely North America, Europe & Asia. Treasure The Mind has participated in 3 exhibitions so far, in St. Andrew & Mandeville (Jamaica), and had provided massage therapy services in Treasure Beach
prior to the onset of the global pandemic that started in 2020.
SETBACKS
Though I grew up well and with a family support-system, I knew all too well what disappointments and devastating setbacks look like.
I got enrolled at the University of the West Indies at 17 years old and studied a Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management.
During my enrollment at the University, I had an unplanned pregnancy and had to take a year leave of absence. My parents got divorced after doing their best to fight for their marriage for 21 years, and then, having returned to school, I now had to juggle between academia and raising my precious son. However, through it all, I came through, graduating with First-Class Honours and being placed in the UWI Honour’s Society! Thereafter, life continued…….
WRAPPING IT UP!!!
The most challenging part in my pursuit of success is shutting out the irrelevant, outside chatters and nay-sayers as they once detrimentally impacted my balancing act of positive self-belief. I believe that I have commenced to triumph via my thirsty quest for conscious spiritual enlightenment and unceasing, deliberate personal development. That began in 2010 through being mindful of what I say to myself, what I read, what I listen, who I hang with, affirmations, ongoing practices of prayer and meditation, etc to be a lifetime work-in-progress.
With the Most Highest being at the core of my life, I expect greater and continuous achievements and victories on my life path.
